The Owls Hole: Sewing and Design Classes
Welcome to The Owls Hole Studio’s unique, private, and individualized Sewing & Design classes.
Located in the Montavilla Neighborhood of North East Portland, The Owls Hole Studio currently offers beginning to advanced private sewing and design classes, available according to your schedule. Our classes have been conceived to enrich one’s understanding of how to operate a sewing machine, construct basic to advanced garments, pattern, drape, work with leather and how to make utilitarian art using reclaimed items. The Owls Hole Studio also offers classes in fashion sketching and illustration using pencil, pen, watercolor, collage and computer graphics programs. You have the option of using a machine here at the studio, or bring your own portable home machine and get more accustomed to working with it. A thorough consultation will need to be conducted (at no cost) on-line or in-person before we begin. This will include assessing your current abilities (a kind of “verbal placement test”) , the difficulty level of the proposed project(s), a projected time-line, supplies needed, a class schedule and duration plan, and fee’s associated with the study.
